M & C Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd is an award-winning KwaZulu-Natal based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy firm, that was established in 2011 and is 100% owned and managed by a Black Professional Female.
Our firm’s capabilities span civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering. We offer our clients planning and advisory services, design & build (design, implementation, construction, contract administration and monitoring, commissioning), and maintenance services.
Our company’s technical and administrative experience spans infrastructure development projects for transport, water, educational, residential, leisure and social infrastructure clients. These include contracts for both the private and the public sector at municipal, provincial, and national government level.

We are professionally registered with Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) and the Institute of Municipal Engineering of Southern Africa (IMESA). We are also registered with the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
Our quality management systems are ISO 9001:2015 certified and we are proud of the high levels of quality that our project teams continue to achieve. We are also proud of being recognised as a top gender empowered company by Standard Bank (Topco Media) in 2021 and 2022. We are registered with the CIDB for the following grading: 1 CE (Civil Engineering), 1 ME (Mechanical Engineering), 1 EP (Electrical Engineering Works – Infrastructure), and 4 GB (General Building).

Sinenhlahla Chamane Pr. Tech Eng is a registered Professional Engineering Technologist with extensive experience spanning consulting, construction, and client-side delivery within the South African built environment.
She holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Mangosuthu University of Technology and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Durban University of Technology. She is professionally registered with ECSA and affiliated with leading industry bodies including SAICE, IMESA, SAT and the NHBRC, where she is recognised as a Competent Person – Engineer and Builder.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Sinenhlahla has built a reputation for technical excellence, sound governance and principled leadership across diverse infrastructure and construction environments. Her career reflects a balance of hands-on engineering expertise and strategic oversight.
She currently serves on several influential industry platforms, including as a Governing Council Member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (7th Term), Chairperson of SAICE’s Finance and Auditing Committee and a Council Member of IMESA. She is also a distinguished Mangosuthu University of Technology Engineering alumna.
Her contributions to the profession have been widely recognised. She was a finalist in the 2023 Standard Bank Empower Her programme, awarded the 2024 CIDB ERWIC Construction Woman of the Year and named the 2025 SAICE Technologist of the Year. In the same year, she received the MUT Spirit Award in honour of the MUT Founder, recognising her commitment to service, integrity and the values of Ubuntu.
Sinenhlahla Chamane continues to champion women in engineering, mentor emerging professionals and drive innovation and transformation within South Africa’s built environment.
Malibongwe Xaba completed his B Tech in Taxation at the Durban University of Technology in 2019 and was first employed by M & C Consulting Engineers in the capacity of Financial Intern in June 2020. Since then, he has advanced his financial knowledge and skills and has obtained certificates in Payroll Administration, SAGE PASTEL, and Basic HR Skills. Mr Xaba facilitates our financial administration and compliance across all of M & C Consulting Engineers operations.
Msawenkosi Sibisi holds an honours degree in Public Administration from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and was employed as an Administrative Intern with M & C Consulting Engineers in 2022. He was later appointed as a full time Office Administrator, Marketing Manager, Quality Management System Representative and personal assistant to the CEO.
While serving at the firm Mr Sibisi has gained valuable experience in office administration, client communication and customer satisfaction, as well as being responsible for M & C Consulting Engineers digital marketing.
Philisiwe Mtshali joined M & C Consulting Engineers in 2017 as an Office Assistant. In 2021, while working for the firm, she completed a SHE Rep certificate from NOSA and a Basic Cleaning Learning Working (BCLW) from the KwaZulu-Natal Bargaining Council for the Contract Cleaning Service Industry.
Over the past seven years Ms Mtshali has excelled in utilising her safety and office maintenance skills to ensuring M & C Consulting Engineers operate in a safe, hygienic and healthy workplace environment.
